Adashe's Journey

Adashe  aka, Steven Hedrick,  is an American singer, songwriter, budding producer and recording artist based in Indianapolis, In. Like many, he began singing in the church choir at a young age. He also  played trumpet as a member of his high school marching band and was also a member of his high school basketball team. His senior year the team advanced to the Indiana state championship game. Adashe continued his basketball career at Park University in Kansas City, Mo.
While at Park University, Adashe joined some classmates and formed the band “Full House” as lead vocalist. The group focused on various funk / R&B groups including Average White  Band, Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores, WAR and others. During that time frame Adashe was introduced to Oleta Adams (Recorded “GET Here if You Can”) who was performing at the Crown Center Hotel. After many discussions about performing and vocal technique, Oleta revealed she had studied vocals at Juilliard. Adashe saw this as a missing piece in his growth and immediately enrolled at the Conservatory at the University of Missouri – Kansas City to study Voice.
He later joined the road band “Living Proof”  and performed in venues from the mid-west to the east coast. The road band was in regular rotation at the Resorts Casino and Caesars Palace in the Poconos.
After the band disbanded he relocated to his home town of Indianapolis and demonstrated his versatility performing with various local groups including Rock , R&B and Jazz genres. He caught the attention of Director Connie Oates-Allen of New Artists Productions and joined the musical theatre group. The group  performed at the Indiana Repertoire Theater, various festivals and special performances in the mid-west. New Artists Productions was booked at a Jazz Festival in Winston Salem as well as several dates in Europe including London and Ireland.
Adashe began to embarked on a personal journey to  find his own lane as a singer / songwriter. Although he can claim that many artists were influences, he primarily credits Oleta Adams and Gino Vannelli as significant influences. He loves Oleta’s vocal technique and  Gino’s vocals along with his musical arrangements with a fusion flavor in many of his recordings.  Adashe has his own unique smooth sound and targets “feel good” grooves delivering ballads or up-tempo songs with ease. You will hear the jazz, R&B, pop and even some fusion elements in his performances. Influences include: Oleta Adams, Gino Vannelli, Lou Rawls, Stevie Wonder, Etta James and many others in the jazz to pop genres.
His latest single, “Than  You’ll Ever Know” is gaining increasing recognition on  Spotify and  other streaming platforms. Expect additional releases as the studio is like a second home!
